A WINNING PEDIGREE

EARLY YEARS

Rotek Racing was founded in 2012 by Robb Holland and Roland Pritzker. These two had a plan to bring American drivers over to the Nurburgring to compete in the prestigious 24 Hours of Nurburgring. A property became available in the prestigious Nurburgring Manufacturers Park in Meuspath 2km from the entrance to the fabled track. The property (one of the first built in the industrial park) comprised of a pristine 10,000 sq/ft workshop and an eight bedroom house that was in dire need of upgrading/ finishing.

NURBURGRING

In the first season of competition the American team quickly proved their abilities racking up 4 class victories in the über competitive SP4T class with the factory Audi TT RS SP4T. Over the years the team managed to rack up over a dozen class wins in multiple classes including two top 10 overall finishes in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring Qualifying races.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

In 2013 the team loaded up the venerable TT RS and headed over back to the US for the iconic 25 Hours of Thunderhill. Taking a Front Wheel Drive car and going up against LeMans winners Flying Lizard Motorsports running GT3 cars would seem to be a tall order but Rotek was up to the task, winning the overall and setting a lap record in the process.

In early 2014 Rotek, fresh off its success at the Thunderhill, headed down under to the 12 Hrs of Bathurst. Competing against the top international drivers in the world Rotek brought out the big guns in FIA World Champion Rob Huff, and 24 hour of Le Mans winner driver Oliver Gavin. The team would lead overall for several hours until an engine failure put them out of the race.

BRITISH TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIPS

While part of the Rotek crew were in Australia the majority of the team was back in the UK at the Silverstone facility shared with partners Craft Bamboo working on the build of a new Audi S4 NGTC Touring Car for a full season entry into the BTCC. In March the team became the first full season American entrant and constructor in the BTCC. Rotek driver Robb Holland would go on to score points and run constantly in the top 15 of the near 40 car field throughout the season. That car would eventually (a few seasons later) go on to take a maiden victory at Silverstone making Rotek the only American constructor ever to win a race in the BTCC.

SRO GT4

In 2021 team principal Robb Holland was recruited by the SRO America to come back and compete in the series. In only their second race in the championship, Holland and Rotek found themselves on the top step at the podium with the Ford Mustang GT4 at Sonoma. Finishing third overall in the championship with multiple podiums.

In 2022 the team switched to the new Porsche GT4RS platform and recorded four wins and three poles over the course of the season. Additionally securing several GT4 Pro-Am podiums for new driver Edgar Lau in the Mustang with Mike Skeen and Billy Johnson co-driving.

But that was just a small preview of things to come. In 2023 Rotek Racing was offered two additional GT4 RS’s by Porsche (one of the few teams to be offered multiple cars for the ’23 season). Rotek repaid PMNA by recording 8 wins 4 poles, 4 fastest race laps and 4 additional podiums becoming the winningest team in GT America history.
